Notchwood is in preview

Notchwood is software for private lenders to record loans, payments and documents, and to share them with borrowers. During the preview it is provided as is, without warranties, and features may change. Keep your own copies of signed agreements and payment records; you can download them at any time.

Who is responsible for what

Notchwood is a tool, not a lender, loan servicer, collection agency or law firm, and nothing in it is legal, tax or financial advice. The lender who uses Notchwood is responsible for their loans: the terms, interest rates and fees, disclosures, licensing, and compliance with the laws that apply to them and their borrowers. Agreement templates are general examples; have an attorney review anything you send for signature. Balances and schedules are calculated from what the lender enters; check them against your own records.

What we store

  • Account details: name, email address, and your lender profile.
  • What lenders enter about their loans and borrowers: contact details, loan terms, payments, notes and custom fields.
  • Documents uploaded to the vault and agreements signed in Notchwood, including signature images and a fingerprint of each file.
  • An audit trail of actions, including the IP address and browser of the person who took them, so signatures and changes can be verified.
  • Records of the emails Notchwood sends.

How it's used and protected

Data is used only to run Notchwood for the lender and their borrowers. We don't sell it or use it for advertising. It is stored on servers operated by Tech Tap Solutions, sent over encrypted connections, and backed up nightly to encrypted off-site storage. Sign-in uses one-time email links through our identity service, and email is delivered by our email service; those services receive only what they need to do that.

Borrowers

If you're a borrower, your lender entered your information and controls your loan record. Contact your lender with questions about your loan, a payment or a correction. You can see your loans, payments and signed documents in the borrower portal.

Keeping or deleting your data

Lenders can export their loan data and documents. When a lender leaves the preview, we delete their workspace on request, except for backups, which expire on a rolling schedule of up to six months.
